Bio

Kamila Gem is a performing artist, lyricist, and songwriter from Washington, D.C. She is known for making heartfelt, inspirational music. Kamila fell in love with the art of music and poetry at a young age and began using her creativity as a form of self-expression.

 In 2010, she released her first project, “Soul Spaceship,” which blended poetic lyrics and melodies over soulful production. In 2011, she released her second project, “Twin Soul: Love & Life,” which further displayed her lyrical ability accompanied by soulful R&B vocals from Sheila Nychole and featuring production from The Arckitech. 

 She notes Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, Andre 3000, and Bob Marley as some of her musical inspirations. Kamila Gem has performed throughout the Washington, D.C. area at Busboys and Poets, the Lincoln Theatre, and the Carter Barron to name a few.

Her latest project, “Gem in the Rough” is available on all streaming platforms.
